A Benin City based entertainment guru, and MD/CEO of Surprise Pub & Cafe, Real Knock Entertainment, Chief Matthew Evbakor Oshodin, the Eni of Ujiogba has described his organization as one with the best live bands in Benin City.
He said they are entertainer who are into hospitality, promote talents, create conducive avenues for people to visit and enjoy themselves, relax and have fun with good music.
Chief Oshodin made this known during an interview with journalists at his business premises in the GRA, Benin City.
The center he disclosed usually have live shows beginning from Friday to Sunday every week with artists like Princess Peggy and others performing thus electrifying the places with beautiful music for the relaxation of guests.
Chief Oshodin who recalled when he started the business in 2015, said it was not easy then, but his resilience and determination to succeed with the grace of God saw him through.
"At a time we almost lost hope. But we had faith that we will win and today it has become a success story.
On the present economic crunch in the country, he agreed that things have not been easy, adding that when you love what you are doing you will have the strength and courage to continue.
"I love what I'm doing and I have passion for it. So, no matter the economic situation, we are still pushing harder".
Speaking on the pervasive insecurity in the country and Edo State in particular which has adversely affected social life and entertainment business in Benin City and environs, Chief Oshodin said "everyone is aware right now that the country is passing through insecurity challenges and that has caused people to minimize places they go to and that includes entertainment arenas".
He however said that Governor Monday Okpebholo has begun to put some measures in place to curtain the security situation. "You can see some police men and vigilantes around. This has really helped us. Particularly this cultism issue was badly affecting our business. But right now the governor has set machinery in motion towards addressing the menace".
He expressed optimism that there would be a rebound with regard to social life in Benin City, admitting that there has been some improvement. He said that those of them in the industry were trying their best to revive night life in the city by upscaling their services to attract patronage.
He called on the government to support persons in the industry with soft loans to grow their respective businesses as such support will make them stay afloat and do more for the society.
The entertainment specialist noted that as the month of December, a period usually full of festivities is approaching, he reminded his customers that Surprise Pub and Cafe is the best place to go and relax.
He specifically called on visiting Diaspora people to remember to visit his place and have first hand experience which will linger for a very long time in their life time.
Realizing the importance of feedback in productve business relationship, Chief Oshodin enjoined all visiting customers to feel free to ask questions and suggest ways to improve services rendered.
"We want to hear from them if we are doing very well or not so that we can improve on our services". Oshodin said.
