The people of Ibore, Ugbalo and Atuagbo communities were in a joyful mood yesterday as Governor Godwin Obaseki approved the rehabilitation of 33KV Overhead Line installation of the transmission in the three communities in Esan Central Local Government Area.
The team of engineers from the supervising agency, Edo State Electrification Agency were on ground to flag-off the project.
Also on ground was Nas Oboh Okougha, a representative of Nastrademous International Ltd, the project contractor who happened to be a son of the community.
You will recall that sometimes ago that Gov. Godwin Obaseki visited Uneah Community Ward One comprising Ibore, Ugbalo and Atuagbo communities in Esan Central Local Government, where he promised to rehabilitate the electricity project that was vandalized over nine years ago.
In 2022 the government started with Ibore community and completed it, leaving Ugbalo and Atuagbo as face two. However, Uneah Community wrote a reminder letter to the governor, telling him that Ugbalo and Atuagbo were yet to benefit from the promise he made to the three communities with regard to the rehabilitation of the electricity project.
The people of the communities acknowledged the role played by one of their illustrious son, a political guru in Edo State, Hon. Engr. Theophilus Okoh who facilitated the Electrification project through an appeal to his Excellency, Godwin Obaseki.
Another illustrious son of the community, Hon. Chris Abhulimen who also assisted in facilitating the approval, led the Agency and the contractor to the site of the project to officially hand it over to them. Abhulimen thanked the governor for fulfilling his promise and appealed to the contractor to complete the job in record time.
Abhulimen was received by the elders of the communities who openly showed appreciation to Governor Obaseki and pledged their loyalty to him and equally prayed for him to succeed in all his endeavors.
The Councillor representing Ward One, Esan Central Local Government, Hon. Kelvin Abhulimen Okpeahior thanked governor Obaseki for remembering the communities.
He promised to always mobilize the people to support the governor at all times.
