The US based  Edo woman disclosed this to journalists' yesterday in the ancient City Benin during the Foundation's programme of activities in  support of the needy, especially the widows in the society.

According to Okoduwa, "When i visited home from Abroad, I saw the sufferings of my people and I was touched. When I returned to Abroad, God laid it in my heart to set up a foundation in December, 2020 to help people in the little way I can, and I yielded to it. To God be the glory we are gradually growing in the state".

She said that some partners all over the world who are passionately supporting the foundation which tends to confirm God's hands in the project, adding that she was grateful to God for using her to put smile on the faces of the needy in the society just as she promised to continue to do her best as the foundation grows.

Continuing, she said their focus is particularly on nursing mothers, orphans and the downtrodden in the society. "The idea is to take children out of the street. We feel everyone deserved shelter, clothes and food. We are trying our best to see how we can lift up these people out of poverty".

Okoduwa also disclosed that the Foundation empowers two or three widows every week and equally feed 100 to 1000 persons on a monthly basis and enrol some kids in school.

Mrs. Okoduwa who could not hide her joy during the event said she is always happy and glad  because seeing people happy gives her  joy and fulfilled having this kind of laudable projects.

She called on other people in the society to always try and give support to the poor among them and encourage them to always do the little they can and not necessarily need to wait until they become millionaire  before extending helping hand to others.

On his part the Patron of the Foundation, Barr. Nosa Uwagboi who  also based in abroad said it has been a blessing to him and feel happy since he joined the foundation, adding that their goal is to make sure nobody go to bed hungry and no child is left behind.

"By the grace of God we have been doing our best in many areas including taking children out of the street and sending them to schools. We are equally giving them shelter. We also help some people to complete their houses and assisting those evicted from homes due to their inability to pay rent".

Barr. Uwagboe recalled how the Foundation intervened and assisted a nursing mother who was held up at the UBTH due to her inability to pay for the hospital bill of N700,000 and the Foundation paid the bill.

He said the foundation has done a lot in giving support to people, adding that they also feel they have not done enough. "Our goal is to reach out to as many people in the society, to help the government and the civil society. We believe a healthy society will be better for us all".

"We are also going into skills acquisition training for some nursing mothers in various trades and paid their bills. The little we have contributed will go a long way in eradicating poverty. I therefore call on other people in the society to join hand with us on this laudable project".

On the source of the finance for the project, Uwagboi said they usually tax themselves to raise the funds. He said that is the reason he worked up to 16 to 17 hours on a daily basis in order to meet up his family responsibility and channel the rest money to the foundation.

"I noticed that there are old people who can no longer help themselves and it gives me joy supporting them. Some partners all over the world equally support us in the foundation by contributing because they see the good thing we are doing. They will certainly see what we are doing here today by putting smile on the faces of people which we are out to do and we will continue to do so", he concluded.

Highlight of the event was feeding and sharing of gift items to the marmoth crowd present.
