Edo 2024 Governorship race no doubt has an array of contestants, especially the Labour party, LP, whose number of followers continue to grow on a daily basis.
But for a Nigerian Canada based guber aspirant in the contest and a security expert Mr. Bassey Ogbemudia Osagie, the coast is getting clearer for him as a leading aspirant as the political activities hots up in the state.
The tactical approach Osagie has deployed in his bid to solving the numerous problems he has identified in Edo State during the period he toured major parts of the state has been the source of attraction and acceptance by Edo people in the run up to the governorship polls.
It is no longer news that many aspirants in the race have no single idea on how to handle the onerous task of developing the state headon. But as the only security expert amongst the aspirants accross party divides in the state has thrusted him forward in the scale of assessment by the people of Edo State.
As at today, the trust the people have in this young and dynamic man whose love to serve the people of Edo State, knew no bound and has continued to grow in the Governorship contest, raising the hope of clinching the Labour Party's ticket ahead of the September 2024, guber race.
Its note worthy that having Ogbemudia Osagie as governor of Edo State will robustly engender a culture of community policing that would promote economic development, increased youth employment and better healthcare. No doubt a more secured Edo would pave the way for prosperity.
We will not also forget to always remind you that Ogbemudia Osagie as an experienced police officer with over 24 years of dedicated service of law enforcement in Toronto, Canada has an edge over other aspirants in the state. Because he is committed to serving and protecting the lives of the people in the state.
Osagie who does not want his people to go hungry in the state has also continued to restate his commitment to providing training in the area of mechanization and ensure fertilizers are made available to the farmers for improved yields.
Also at this critical moment in the politics of Edo State, money politics must be discouraged. It must be made to take the back seat to allow trust, credibility and the zeal to serve the people to take center stage to allow for credible aspirants like Ogbemudia Osagie to emerge.
Therefore, it is my strong advice for stakeholders in Edo politics to take proper note of the political activities of Mr. Ogbemudia Osagie with regard to his Governorship project, in order to assess his ability and thereafter give him all the needed support to get the nomination of his party.
