EDO 2024: I Will Serve My People Better In Government, says Obhakhan

A foremost  aspirant in  the 2024 Edo State governorship election and former Commissioner for Education in the state, Engr. Gideon Obhakhan has disclosed that his intention to Serve his people better was the reason he left his plump job in MTN to join politics in 2015.

He disclosed this recently in Benin City during an interview with the Groove Watch News.

Engr. Obhakhan who contested for the position of House of Representatives to represent Esan West, Esan Central and Igueben Constituency in 2015, on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC, said that a 'New Edo is Possible'.

"It is always impossible to reach out to your people in a larger way when you are in a private sector. So, I decided to come into politics to contest in 2015 on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC, for the House of Representatives to be able to serve them better".

Obhakhan further said that because of his interest in the well being of Edo State he decided to donate 5 Hilux Vans to the Edo State government during Comrade Adams Oshiomhole's administration. He added that he did not stop there as he went ahead to donate chairs and tables to  some schools to enhance learning.

He said he was already putting all the necessary things together that will assist him to do well in  government in case he wins the primary in his party which he believed will translate to victory at the poll.

The Governorship hopeful said because he believed so much in uplifting people from poverty he has been supporting in opening businesses for them and payment of tuition fees for students till date.

He expressed his gratitude to the people of Edo State for the support he has received from them so far as he continue to meet with stakeholders in the state in his on going consultations to succeed in his Governorship ambition. He appealed to them to sustain the cooperation and support.

Obhakhan promised not to fail if given the mandate to serve them as governor.
