The leadership of the Edo State Labour Party has described those involved in the purported suspension of of the National Chairman of the party, Barr. Julius Abure in a press conference held in Abuja as miscreants who are not known to be members of the party.
"For the avoidance of doubt, they are not members of Labour Party in the state and does not belong to any strata of the party as they claimed".
This was contained in a press statement signed by the Publicity of the party, Edo State Chapter, Comrade Sam Uroupa and made available to the Groove Watch News in Benin City.
"The meeting which was held in Abuja with a few collection of boys who are un- known to labour party both at the national and state levels, should be totally disregarded. They hold no membership cards of labour party, they are stack faceless persons who are selfishly disgruntled with no fact contained in what they allege
"I can authoritatively tell you that the persons in that laughable charade are not members of our party in the state, local government and ward level.
The document as it appeared, is not the product of the state chapter of labour party and the signatories are blatantly alien as well as the names. moreso, when it can clearly be understood that the constitutional competence to do as in their letters, is non existent as they are totally ignorant of the assignment they were hired to do. Suspending the national chairman of LP is a subject of national convention summoned for that purpose as contained in the party's constitution. No reasonable party man will ever contemplate suspension of the national chairman at this time when we are prosecuting very important matters to reclaim our stolen mandate. It is Barr. Julius Abure's leadership that brought LP to both national and global prominence courtesy of the sacrifices he has made to nurture and grow the party".
