STOP Rubber Stamp House of Assembly: Vote LP Candidates -- DG, Edo Campaign Council

By Ehichioya Steve Odion

The Director-General, Edo State Labour Party Campaign Council, Raphael Obasogie has urged Edo people to come out en mass to vote for Labour Party candidates in the next Saturday's election in order to elect a House of Assembly that will truly represent the people's interest.

Obasogie made this appeal in a press statement personally signed and made available to the Groove Watch News in Benin City.

In the statement, he thanked  Edo People for the show of love to the Labour Party Presidential candidate, Peter Obi, and LP Senatorial and House of Representatives candidates whom they overwhelmingly voted for during the last Presidential election, adding that the Edo State House of Assembly election is also very key to the  party as they would like to have the majority at the Edo Legislative Chamber.

"We are counting on the good people of Edo State to succeed in this coming Saturday's election, especially the youths who have voluntarily chosen Labour Party as their preferred party. We want to assure you that the leadership of the party will not forget the role played by all of you, before and during the elections. We are proud of you all".

Obasogie who is one of the leaders in the Labour Party in Edo State said Edo people should disregard the  lies and propaganda from other political parties about an alliance with Labour Party for the House of Assembly elections as there is no such alliance.  He further said that Labour Party provides the only option to have a vibrant and performing House of Assembly and that he is happy that Edo people have already made up their minds and are  determined to vote for all Labour Party House of Assembly  candidates come next Saturday 18th March 2023.

He disclosed that the last visit of the Presidential candidate, Peter Obi and the National chairman of the party,  Barr. Julius Abure to Edo State was to officially present the House of Assembly candidates as the authentic candidates for this weekend's election, adding that their coming is to also dispel the rumour making the round that the Labour Party candidates are being sponsored by Governor Godwin Obaseki.

Obasogie also reminded the people of the rescheduled  Federal House of Representatives election for  Esan West, Esan Central and Igueben Constituency which is also taking place this Saturday. He called on the people of the stated  Constituency to replicate what they did during the Presidential election by voting massively for the Labour Party candidate, Engr. Solomon Enoghase Ebhonbotiti.

He concluded that with the party's enxtensive  campaign  across the state, he was very confident of victory for all Labour Party candidates at the polls come Saturday 18 March 2023.
