The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) delegates are to take decision to vote and nominate the party's flag bearer for the position of House of Representatives for Esan Central/Esan West/Igueben Federal Constituency before the general election.
The need for emphasis here is to admonish the delegates not to make a mistake in choosing their representative.
As members of PDP, no one should shy away from the zoning arrangements put in place in Edo Central by the party since 1999.
The party must first of all consider the word "EBAKOTA" and critically identify those who have benefited from it in the past and now; then those who have not benefited, especially the local government that is yet to produce National Assembly member since democracy came on board.
I cannot end this story without mentioning Barr. Alex Adoghe who is one of the aspirants from Igueben Local Government Area. Looking at the PDP aspirants' stand as politicians and their activity in the party from national to the grassroots level, Alex Adoghe is also favoured.
To this end, the delegates should look beyond financial inducement and put the party's interest into consideration and give prominence to the local government that is supposed to produce the National Assembly member and the aspirant to look up to.
In this case, the party is already working towards victory in the general election as crisis will be averted in the party because the delegates have done the right thing.
Moreover, any action taken by the party that will affect the party in the future should be avoided. Allow justice, equity and fairness guide whatever decision they take at this critical period the opposition may want to take advantage.
In a nutshell as a new entrant in the contest, Alex Adoghe should be given the opportunity to equally serve the people of his constituency and encourage those serial contestants to support him as he has been doing for them and other PDP candidates in past elections. By this decision the party would have put itself on a good track to win the next election.
Then support and nominate Alex Adoghe for effective and efficient representation.
