PDP kick-starts E-Registration in Edo

The Peoples Democratic Party  (PDP) said the need to have a comprehensive and enduring data base of members was the reason the party initiated E-Registration exercise.

This was disclosed today in Benin City by the Chairman, E-Registration, Edo State, Hon. Kabiru Adjoto while flagging-off the exercise. He said the party decided to digitalized the process of its membership by leveraging on information and communication technologies (ICT) for safer and more efficient preservation of data.

"The party's technical team has come up with a software designed to aid data capturing either through self registration or field registration on the website: www.iampdp.com".

He further said that the state E-Registration committee and the leadership of the party have put all the necessary machineries in place for the training of agents who will be deployed to the various wards to drive the exercise. He also said that the party's target is to register at least one million people in the state.

In his remark, the Chairman of PDP, Edo State, Hon. Tony Aiziegbemin said this is the first time this kind of Semi Biometry exercise will take place in the country.

He enjoined all party members to give the maximum support to the National Chairman of E-Registrstion, Governor Godwin Obaseki to ensure the exercise is successful in the state.
