By Ehichioya Steve Odion

A frontline governorship aspirant for the Edo 2024 governorship election and the Founder, Okoukoni Care Foundation, Mr. Martins Azekhumen Okoukoni has passionately made an appeal to the Federal Government and the Edo State government to as a matter of urgency fix all the bad federal roads in Edo State,  as it is causing untold hardship to the residents of the state and travellers that transit through the state.

Okoukoni made this appeal in an exclusive interview with The Groove Watch News crew.

He equally begged the Federal Government to look into the fuel crisis in the country as it is already unbearable for the citizens of Nigeria with high cost of living skyrocketing. He further said that the leaders must live by example by reducing the cost of governance to the beerest minimum.

He said it is the constitutional obligation of governor Godwin Obaseki and  President Bola Asiwaju Tinubu having taken an oath to protect the lives and properties of Nigerians, they must therefore work hand in hand to ensure all federal roads  in the state are maintained to the highest standard.

The governorship hopeful said that the total collapse of the Nigeria economy can easily be traced to the decaying infrastructures and lack of vision from the part of Nigeria leaders.

"Nigeria leaders cannot continue to give excuses and allows the hard work of our heroes past to reduced to nothing. If a governor cannot bring to the attention of the federal agency responsible for the maintenance of roads in the state, how possible will such governor be able to attract international investment into the state".

Okoukoni however, said that if given the opportunity to serve as governor, that he will make sure the sufferings of Edo people becomes history.

He appealed to President Bola Asiwaju Tinubu to quickly look into the high cost of fuel which has resulted to unabated high cost of living that has led many families into serious hunger and starvation in the country.
