The political activities is gradually gathering momentum in Edo State towards 2024 Governorship election once again where politicians come up with all kinds of promises on what they intend to do for their people if elected.
But this is not the case of one of the foremost governorship aspirants in the coming Governorship election in Edo state, Mr. Martins Azekhumen Okoukoni.
Okoukoni has been in the forefront of touching lives with his Okoukoni Care Foundation since the establiment of the Foundation six years ago. Through this Foundation Edo people have benefited in the areas of tuition fees and enrolment of WAEC/NECO for students and financial support for those who want to do business. And above all he is investing massively in Community development.
So, Martins Okoukoni coming into the Governorship race should be seen as a blessing to the Edo people as he intends to consolidate on what he has been doing for the people, especially the underprivileged ones among us with his personal resources.
Someone like Okoukoni is who the people of Edo State should be rooting for in respetive of political divide. The reason is that he is very much concerned about the suffering of the people, and therefore, his plans is how to alleviate such suffering and improve positively in their lives.
Okoukoni has already prepared himself for this great task to govern Edo State. It is only wise to encourage this young man to deployed his wealth of experience from the private sector to revatilised the economy of the state.
Why Okoukoni will certainly make a different in governance if given the opportunity to serve, is because he believed so much in the service to humanity, as he hates seeing people suffering. Unlike other politicians who sees politics as their occupation will want to concentrate in serving themselves and their political friends before thinking of the people. I think this kind of attitude from these set of politicians will not be welcomed by the people in 2024.
Therefore, Edo people need to think and act wisely to get it right coming year by considering this man of hope and enthusiasm and it will be better for the state and its citizens.
There is no doubt if this man is given all the maximum support to become the choosing one among others, he will certainly play his part not to disappoint Edo people.
