National League One: FC Deltra Thrash Junosa United 3 - 1 In Opening Match

It was a good beginning for the FC Deltra  Club of Benin City  yesterday at the Uniben Sports Complex in this year's Nigeria  League One when they played with the Junosa United Football Club of Benin City, which ended in  3 - 1 in favour of the FC Deltra Football Club.

The FC Deltra were in good form as they dominated the ball possession in both first and second half of play.

The first goal in the Match was scored by Ejiro Abotu of Junosa United, but in another ten minutes the Captain of FC Deltra, Endurance Osamwonuyi helped his team to equalise with a fantastic goal. Another goal came in from  Agbonlahor making it 2 goals in favour of FC Deltra before they got penalty kick at the extra time and was played and scored  by the captain, Endurance Osamwonyi which led the scores to 3 - 1 

In an interview with the captain,  Endurance Osamwonuyi of FC Deltra, shortly after the end of the match, he said he was very excited that they won their first match which earned them three points. "I and my team actually  work hard to achieve this success. For me to score two goals in this opening match is a big encouragement to us".

He added that there is no doubt that this first winning has boosted their moral and promised that his team will work very hard to win their next match.

On the part of the coach of FC Deltra, Isaac Idahosa disclosed that his team just got a promotion from last season, Nation wide League two to Nation wide League one where he said they where presently.

"I want to sincerely commend our chairman, Mr. Harry Eboigbe who put all the necessary things together in preparation for the tournament, including his financial and moral support for the club. That is the reason we are succeeding now".

Coach Idahosa also disclosed that last season was their first outing, adding that the team did excellently well to earn the promotion that brought them to the position they are today.

"Today's game was good, but 18 minutes of play there was a mistake from the centre referee which was uncalled for. There was infringement against our team, but she awarded  foul against our team and I was not impressed with that, which also  make the referee to hand me a red card in the process

"My boys were able to interprete themselves and brought out the technical instructions in the field of play and have the day. I'm glad and happy."

On the next match,  Coach Idahosa promised to go back to drawing board and put proper things in order technically to keep the flag flying and get the 3 points ahead again.
