The need for stakeholders to come together to look at how the education system in Edo State can solve the problem of Edo State in particular and Nigeria at large has been empharsized.
This empharsis was made today in Benin City by the South-South Coordinator of CSACEFA, Augusta Impact Beneboh, during a one day stakeholders interactive forum organized by the Civil Society Action Coalition On Education For All (CSACEFA) Edo State.
The topic of discuss "Invest In People And Prioritize Education" was an eye opener to many issues related to education that were neglected in Edo State.
"We must also begin to be conscious of what we sell to our children and youths as this is the only way we can begin to correct that myth "education is a scam".
She said if we consider
the value we placed on education and decided to address the issues that concerns education that we would make the difference.
"We must know that investing in education is beyond paying huge tuition fees alone. It involes time and other efforts that will ensure that the three (3) domains of learning which include cognitive (thinking), affective (emotions or feeling) and Psychomotor (Physical or kinesthetic) will be achieved".
"The work is enormous and the labourers are few hence we are calling on Parents, Teachers, Proprietors, Government Officials, the Governor, Traditional Rulers, Religious leaders, Business owners and all well meaning individuals to join this crusade of prioritising education as it is the bedrock of meaningful development".
