The candidate for Edo State House of Assembly (EDHA) representing Oredo East Constituency on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Barr. Raphael Usuomon has promised the people of his Constituency of a qualitative, purposeful and efficient representation at the legislative Chamber.
Barr. Usuomon disclosed this to the people of his Constituency today in Benin City while flaggimg off his campaign for the coming general elections.
Barr. Usuomon, a lawyer by profession said he has Masters degree in Law, adding that he is presently studying for his PHD in Legislative Drafting and Law of Administration at the University of Abuja. He also said that if he successfully complete the course he will now be among those that will be drafting Constitution.
He said the reason Nigeria is not getting it right is due to lack of interest in the welfare of its citizens by the leaders in the helm of affairs. He however said that he strongly believed that if the right persons are elected into positions that things will change for better.
He said as a lawyer he will not fail to Carry out his legislative duty in a manner that will benefit his Constituency and to also serve the society rightly. He also promised to support the youths to actualise their dreams were necessary, either in education or in acquisition program.
"I am very happy that my Party APC carefully selected very competent persons to contest this coming election. I have no doubt that if elected we all will deliver in our various positions. Section 4 of the 1999 Constitution specify the functions of the House of Assembly. So, I will surely do what is expected of me at the legislative Chamber".
He further said that your right as a Nigeria citizen is to elect good people whose antecedents is known to the public.
He thanked the leaders and members of his party for sacrificing their time to attend the event, adding that he was overwhelmed with the huge turn out of people. He begged them to continue to give him such support in order to come out victorious on the election day.
Personalities present at the flag off were fomerr Deputy Governor of Edo State, Lucky Imasuen, APC State Secretary, Lawrence Okah, Barr. Gentleman Amengor, Hon. Osaro Obazee, Engr. Gabriel Iduseri, Osamudiamen Osarenkhoe and many others.
Highlight of the event was the special prayer for Barr. Raphael Usuomon by the widows who attended the event.
