The need to be fair and transparent in the recruitment, the National Population Commission has introduced the online e-recruitment Porter to train the officers that will superintend the center recruitment process.
This was disclosed by the Federal Commissioner, National Population Commission, Edo State, Dr. Tony Aiyejina during a press briefing today in Benin City.
He further said that the Chairman, National Population Commission, Hon. Nasir Isa Kwarra fnsa, inaugurated the Online E-recruitment Porter for the 2023 Population and Housing Census on Monday 31st October, 2022 at the National Headquarters in Abuja.
"I want to use this medium to inform the good people of Edo State that the Commission will through the online recruitment process, request applicants from the following categories of field staff that will be needed to prosecute the next Census include, Facilitators, Training Centre Administrators, Monitoring and Evaluation Officers, Data Quality Manager, Data Quality Assistants, Supervisors and Enumerators".
He also said that the quality of the persons that will perform the census activities is very important, adding that the quality of the product will reflect and impact on the data to be collected and ultimately, the success of the 2023 census. "A badly conducted recruitment process will inevitably lead to problems and increase the risk of an unsuccessful census".
Dr. Aiyejina assured Edo people that the bulk of personnel for the 2023 census will be drawn from communities where they are resident. He said this will remove the huge logistics of moving personnel across the state.
