Edo PDP Crisis: Reasons Reconciliation Move May Fail

By Ehichioya Steve Odion

It is now clear that yesterday's PDP rally which attracted the national chairman of the party, Iyochia Ayu and members of Board of Trustees may suffer a reconciliatory setback as elected Ward and local government chairmen said they were not carried along during the rally.

Some of them who spoke to Groove Watch News, but preferred not to be mentioned said the plans to sideline the real owners of the party was deliberate and an attempt to further relegate them.

According to them, "We heard that prior to the arrangements towards the rally, the leaders that accompany the Governor to our party met at the government house where messages were sent across to the local governments and wards for further arrangements for the rally. But we were not informed. Are they saying we elected members recognized constitutionally are no longer relevant in the party? Well, the end shall tell.

They said they will not forget in hurry all they passed through while they were in opposition, adding that they were all happy when the Governor came to their party, and that unfortunately his coming has not favoured them in any way.

They said the party needs a genuine and lasting reconciliation that will bring all party members together, and call on the national chairman to follow the party's Constitution to the latter in resolving the problems in Edo PDP.
