It was tributes galore yesterday at the service of songs of Late Madam Christiana Izeigbuwa Okhiran at her residence in Benin City.
The officiating Minister, Pastor Monday Obinta described Madam Christiana as a very committed and dedicated Christian who attends all church activities despite her old age.
According to the man of God, "My wish and prayers is that the children Mama left behind should work together so that the labour, sacrifice and effort she made in their lives should not be in vain. Because Mama really loved and served God commitedly. It is my prayers that the cord of unity should bind them together".
Pastor Obinta enjoined Christians to love, serve and do the will of God as many people lived their lives as if they created themselves.
"God is seeking for a relationship. Do not be far from the Lord as a Christian. Many Christians has gone far from the reach of God. Remember you are not the creator of your life".
Other people who paid tributes to Madam Christiana described her as a lover of people, especially children. They further said that the woman lived a Christian Life that is worthy of emulation. They said her kindness new no bound as she was a good comforter.
The children of Madam Christian Izeigbuwa Okhiran were not left out in paying tributes to their loved mum.
They described their mother as sweet, loving and kind hearted woman who single-handely raised the children at a very difficult circumstances.
They said they were equally happy that their mother did not lack anything while she was alive as they did all they could to make life comfortable for her. As that was the only way they could tell her that they appreciated all she did for them as a loving mother.
They also described her as a mentor, sister and friend, adding that their successes in life wouldn't have been possible without her. They prayed that God accept her soul in heaven.
Madam Christiana Izeigbuwa Okhiran was born on 15th of April, 1941 to the families of Late Mr. and Mrs Umaren Asikhia at Egure Quarters, Oalikpe-Ivbiodohen-Okpuje, in Iuleha, Owan West Local Government Area of Edo State.
As the first grandchild of the family, she was loved and petted by her parents and grandparents. She was not privileged to receive formal education despite her intelligence.
She died at the age of 80 years after a brief illness. May her soul rest in peace. Amen.
