One of the front line aspirants in the forthcoming Edo APC Congress, Chief Francis Inegbineki has reassured his party members his willingness to contest the State Congress election slated for this week Saturday.

He disclosed this today while briefing journalists in Benin City. He further discard the rumour going round that he has stepped down from the race or asked to step down for someone else. He therefore reaffirmed his readiness to contest and become the next Edo State APC Chairman.

Chief Inegbineki said it is true that there was a kangaroo meeting held few hours ago which suggested that the Edo State Congress will no longer hold as schedule, and that, a process that is alien to the ethos and principles of democracy will be adopted, where an incompetent state executives will be handpicked and imposed on the party. He said he dissasociated himself from such undemocratic decision from a kangaroo and illegal meeting.

"I and majority of our party members completely dissasociated ourselves from that illegal meeting and its undemocratic decision. We insist on a free and credible state Congress as stipulated in the Constitution of APC and the Congress guidelines released by the Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Plannining Committee, (CECPC).

He therefore appealed to the leadership of the party led by its Chairman, Mai Mala Buni to intervene and stop the party from imminent collapse in Edo State.
