It was excitement galore yesterday at the Treasure Group of Schools, Urora, Idokpa, Benin-Auchi Road, Benin City when the pupils and students of the school came out in their numbers to display their talents in academic works and other social events.
In her remark, the proprietress of the school, Pastor (Mrs.) Bosede Okonofua disclosed that they could not hold their graduation ceremony last year due to the Covid-19 Pandemic. She thanked God for the gift of life which made this year's event possible.
She said this year's ceremony is unique because the chairman of the occasion, Mathew Okpeku who was represented by Moses Ologbosere, coicidentally was her class mate at Holy Trinity Grammar School, Sabogidda-Ora. She described him as one of the special people who shared in the bedrock of education that brought her to the stage she is today.
"To my teachers thank you for your hard work and dedication. This is a day of celebration of your hard work and results of your efforts in the classroom. This is also a period to intensify effort in order to make the next set of pupils even better than the last set".
She thanked the parents of the graduating pupils as they reap the rewards of their efforts and sacrifice made on behalf of the kids. She also advice parents to always pay attention to their children in academics, socially and spiritually.
She disclosed that the school was making effort to employ more capable teachers to complement the existing ones, in order to boost the academic learning.
On his part, the Chairman of the occasion, Matthew Okpeku, represented by Moses Ologbosere thanked the management of the school for given him the honour to chair the occasion, adding that the presentation by the students during the event shows they were properly trained.
He advice the management of the school to keep the flag flying as God will take them to amiable height that people will be proud of.
One of the special guests of honour, Engr. Samuel Imokhuede said with what he observed today, that it shows that the school will produce a lot of stars in academics.
"All we need to do is to support them to make sure their dreams come to reality. With what I'm seeing the school management is trying. I'm impressed".
The Head Mistress of the school, Mrs Ogbeide Praise described the event as overwhelming. She said they could not hold their graduation ceremony last year due to Covid-19 Pandemic.
"God gave us the grace to hold the event this year. This is better than the previous ones. People came in good numbers and the students did perfectly well".
She said the students are doing well and that they are willing to learn as well. She advice their parents to equally support them so that they could do better.

Highlight of the event was the display by different cultural groups, recitation of poems, dressing competition and presentation of certificates to the graduating pupils by the Proprietress of the school, Pastor (Mrs) Bosede Okonofua.
