Ahead of the Edo 2024 Governorship election slated for next year, a frontline governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress APC. Engr. Gideon Ikhine, during the weekend received blessings from his kinsmen from Ukpenu Neka, in Esan West Local Government Area of the State on his Governorship aspiration.
In his remarks, the Governorship aspirant, Engr. Ikhine expressed his happiness on the warm reception accorded to him by his people.
He described the event as satisfactory and fulfilling, having seen the love shown to him by the people he referred to as fathers, mothers, brothers and sisters who came out in their numbers to grace the accasion.
"I want to sincerely thank you all for continue to show me uncommon love and support which have over the years assisted me to achieve all that I have achieved so far" he added.
He further stressed that the reason he was in his hometown was to formally inform his people of his ambition to contest the next year's Governorship election on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC, as well as to receive the blessings and support of his people, noting that only a child who has the backing of his people can easily succeed.
Engr. Ikhine expressed his optimism in clinching the party's ticket as well as emerging victorious at the Governorship election which is slated for September next year.
On his part, the representative of the Odionwere of Ukpenu Neka Mr. Itua Ekpuda Commended Engr. Gideon Ikhine for always putting his people first in any thing he does, including this important Governorship project, adding that the Governorship aspirant has been very useful to the community by continually attracting several developmental projects to his community and the Local Government Area at large.
Ekpuda also appealed to the All Progressives Congress, APC, not to blow their chance of winning the next year's Governorship election by feeding unpopular candidate, while stressing that Engr. Gideon Ikhine is not just only a true son of Ukpenu Neka, but the pride of the entire Edo Central Senatorial district who are capable of winning elections anyday anytime.
The people took time to pray for Engr. Ikhine towards his success in his Governorship aspiration.
Also present at the event were large numbers of party faithful and other individuals who joined him for the event.
