Supporters Jubilate As Ikhine Picks APC Membership Card

A former chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP who recently defected to the All Progressives Congress, APC, Engr. Gideon Ikhine has formally picked the party membership card.

Engr. Ikhine who was the former governorship aspirant in  the state picked his party membership card along with  over  two hundred of his supporters in a carnival like manner at the  party Secretariat in Ward 7 in Esan West Local Government Area of Edo State.

In his remarks, Engr. Gideon Ikhine said he was in Ward 7 to formally joined the APC and collect his party membership card from the leadership of the party in the ward led by the chairman, Hon. Elvis Itua.

"I have come today to join the APC. I am not going anywhere again. I will henceforth remain with APC. Every PDP household in  Ward 7 has today joined APC. I have 200 people that want to register as a new member with me today. This is just the beginning. Having picked our cards today it simply show that we are all now members of APC. We are no longer  stranger in the party".

He charged the Ward chairman, Hon. Elvis Itua to be a strong leader since he has started having more members in the party, including those ones that came into the party with him.

He further said that he has already discussed with some of the leaders in the ward on how best to reorganize the party in the ward in order to continue to win all elections as it comes, adding that as a party you are either growing or not growing at all.

The APC chieftain also promised that there will be no faction in the ward, adding that the ward will only have one leadership henceforth.

Highlights of the occasion was the official handling of the membership card and the broom to Engr. Gideon Ikhine by the Ward chairman, Hon. Elvis Itua.
