2023 EDHA Election: Benin City At A Standstill Over Obi's Visit To Canvass Votes For LP Candidates

The Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi today stormed Benin City, capital of Edo State to canvass votes for the House of Assembly candidates.

The first place he visited was Ramat Park where huge crowd was on ground to welcome him to the ancient City

As soon as the news was broken to the public that Peter Obi was already at Ramat Park, Ikpoba Hill, the crowd at the New Benin begin to increase, and soon as Peter Obi arrived there every where was locked down, including all adjourning streets in New Benin. The only thing the Labour party Presidential candidate could do was to wave to the crowd as a sign of saying thank you while the shout of Obi rented the air.

As Peter Obi continue his journey from there through Mission Road to Ring Road, every where became blocked as Obi convoy strungled to continue their journey to the venue of the town hall meeting where he met with the Labour party candidates and other stakeholders of the party.

Addressing the manmoth crowd at the venue Peter Obi expressed his gratitude to all obidient supporters for their massive support during the last Presidential election.

Obi officially endorsed all the Edo State House of Assembly Labour Party candidates by raising their hands and appealed to the Edo people to ensure they massively vote for all labour party candidates come 18th of March, 2023.

The National Chairman of Labour Party (LP), Barr. Julius Abure asked Edo people to disregard the speculation by the opposition parties in the state that Governor Godwin Obaseki is the one sponsoring the Labour Party candidates. He begged them to vote for Labour party candidates in order to achieve a new Nigeria which Peter Obi represent.

On his part, the state chairman of Labour Party, Ogbaloi Kelly said Peter Obi's visit to Edo State was to thank Edo people for their support for him during the Presidential election and to also officially present the labour party candidates to Edo People. He added that they were prepared for the coming House of Assembly election and that of House of Representatives in Edo Central.
