It has been observed by political watchers in Edo State that the coming of Engr. Gideon Ikhine into the Governorship race few weeks ago has been greeted with hope and enthusiasm by many who believed in his vision for the state.
There is no doubt that other aspirants in APC are qualified. But the Governorship election will not end in the party, as they have to face other political parties in the state after primary election which will climax in the real election come next year.
All Progressives Congress, APC, having a competent, formidable and acceptable candidate to represent the party during the election will no doubt facilitate the winning of the election by the party in the polls.
Therefore, it will not be out of place for the party, APC, to look inwards and gladly nominate Engr. Gideon Ikhine during the party's primary and encourage other contestants in the party to give him all the necessary support to enable him give the party victory come next year.
Through his vision, Engr. Ikhine has already lined up all he will do for Edo people in line with his manifesto which will be unveiled fully for the people of the state at the appropriate time.
In the past, Engr. Ikhine was able to move round the 192 political wards in Edo State which none of the aspirants will be able to cover between now and the time of the primary. This alone has rated Engr. Gideon Ikhine above all other contestants in his party the (APC).
During that period of touring the wards he used the opportunity to meet stakeholders, community leaders which included the traditional rulers for consultations on how he intends to carry out development in the local governments that make up the wards.
So, the man is quite abreast with all the problems in Edo and he is already working out strategies on how to tackle those problems and hit the ground running if elected by the people of Edo State in 2024.
It is already clear here that Engr. Ikhine is far ahead of other aspirants in the state who are still contemplating on how to begin their journey in the Governorship race without a blueprint yet. This man deserves to be given the opportunity to make his vision a reality for the upliftment of Edo State and its citizens.
As he continues to consult Party leaders and members, he is getting stronger in the race as more Edo people are buying into his vision which he is gradually unfolding as he meets with the people one on one. He has the competency and capability to win the Governorship election next year if given the ticket by his party.
