The leadership of the Labour Party (LP), Edo State, led by Ogbaloi Kelly has declared that the party is going into next week's House of Assembly election with all their hearts and therefore not holding any consultations with PDP or APC in regards to the coming Edo State House of Assembly election, adding that those PDP allegedly inviting to a meeting are not members of the Labour Party.
This was disclosed to the Groove Watch News today during a press briefing by the Labour Party state chairman, Ogbaloi Kelly in Benin City.
"Information reaching the hierarchy of Labour Party is that the PDP have engaged in last minute maneuvering, running nocturnal meetings and seeking ways to Meet with Labour Party House of Assembly candidates. This can be understood from the damming failure they experienced in the polls on the 25th of February, 2023, but we clear with every details that they could be running the bends but not with Labour party and its House of Assembly candidates".
The party thanked the people of Edo State, especially Edo South and Central respectively. He further said that they share in the troubles Edo North faced in the hands of PDP and APC who introduced into the contest dangerous and alien behaviours, adding that those who were once thought to be honest, decent and leaders of high repute could so swiftly decline in all respects of good social onducts.
The party also expressed their disappointment over the abysmal performance of INEC led by Prof. Mammud Yakubu during last Saturday's general election. "Our expectation was that by the age of INEC today, they would bring to the Electoral table such improvement that can definitely sophistication and setting a new standard for the world on election management, but reverse was the case".
The Labour Party vehemently request INEC to immediately go back to those Polling Units in Edo State which was disrupted and whose votes belong to the party and conduct fresh election. They said the INEC Charman disappointed Nigerians and the whole world having failed to keep to his promise of free, fair and credible election.
