Following the recent election of a new executive to pilot the affairs of the Reliance Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Edo State Council, the new Chairman of the Chapel, Comrade Ehichioya Stephen Odion yesterday led other executives and the entire members of the çhapel on a courtesy call to a well respected politician cum farmer, Etose Dickson Imasogie.
Speaking during the visit, the chairman of the Chapel, Comrade Ehichioya Stephen said, "we are grateful to you for your love towards every journalist in Edo State. I appealed to you sir for support for the Chapel to enable me succeed as the leader of the chapel.
"We came on board about a week ago and we deemed it fit to pay you a visit because you are a father to all. You are a key promoter of the Reliance Chapel and The Reliance Newspaper. Your door is always opened to us and we can't ignore such fatherly gesture", he said.
Odion described Etose Imasogie as a man who for a very long time has dedicated his life to the service of humanity, adding that even though he has no registered Foundation, but his philanthropic work is equal to two or three Foundations put together.
"Etose Imasogie have been a source of joy to many homes in Edo State. He once told me in one of the interviews granted that it is when he is able to meet the needs of the needy and the down troden that he would have the courage to go to the bed to sleep. Imasogie is now a household name in Edo State because of his humility and kindness".
In addition, the pioneer Chairman of the Chapel, Comrade Kadiri Christopher said, "this chapel and the publisher of the Reliance Newspaper have always been on your top priority and we appeal to you to continue to support us with your fatherly love".
Responding, the host, Etose Imasogie said, "you people are doing very well and let me inform you that The Reliance Newspaper is my number one newspaper. The publisher is my friend, you all are my children who I am proud of".
Responding to press interview on political matters in Edo State, the octogenarian said, "as a father of PDP, I earlier admitted that which ever way the court judgement goes it will be okay by me.
"The Governor, Godwin Obaseki is not helping issues. The governor's role is paramount to the stability of the party and especially, to the victory in the polls. That is all I can say now".
